Loop Voice for Zendesk: escalated calls become Zendesk tickets

When a Loop Voice call needs a person, Loop Voice creates a Zendesk ticket with the AI summary, the order and the recording attached. You connect it by registering a Zendesk OAuth client and authorizing Loop Voice, in five steps. Every escalated call also keeps a ticket in your Loop Voice dashboard.

    What it does

    Creates
A Zendesk ticket when a call needs a human, once you authorize Loop Voice to create tickets.
    Attaches
The AI summary, the order and the recording.
    When
The agent cannot resolve something. Built-in rules can also stop or escalate a call on negative sentiment, a do-not-contact request, complex refunds, or legal or medical questions.
    Keeps
A support ticket in your Loop Voice dashboard for every escalated call; Zendesk receives the escalation as an additional channel.

    How to connect

    1. 1

In Zendesk Admin Center, click Apps and integrations, then APIs, OAuth clients, and click Add OAuth client (Zendesk OAuth guide). Older Zendesk articles show this list under APIs, Zendesk API, on the OAuth Clients tab.

    2. 2

Give it a name (for example "Loop Voice") and set a unique identifier, which you paste back as the Client ID. Zendesk fills the identifier in from the name, and it also asks for a Client kind: choose Confidential, because Zendesk lets confidential clients use a client secret and requires public clients to use PKCE.

    3. 3

Under Redirect URLs, paste the redirect URL shown on Loop Voice's Zendesk settings page.

    4. 4

Save the OAuth client. Zendesk shows the secret once, so copy all of it then (it can run past the edge of the box) and click Save again; afterwards Zendesk shows only its first nine characters.

    5. 5

In Loop Voice, open Settings, Integrations, Zendesk, enter your Zendesk subdomain (the part before .zendesk.com), the Client ID and the secret, and click Connect Zendesk. You are sent to Zendesk to authorize Loop Voice.

Lives in Settings, Integrations, Zendesk; then choose Zendesk under Escalation Path in the agent's settings. Zendesk offers OAuth clients on every Suite plan and on Support Team, Professional and Enterprise.

What you can do with it

What your team sees in Zendesk

Each escalation arrives as a Zendesk ticket with the AI summary, the order and the recording. The same call always creates a support ticket in your Loop Voice dashboard too; Zendesk, Redo and SMS deliver the escalation to an additional channel, and you choose it under Escalation Path in each agent's settings.

Loop Voice keeps call recordings for 7 days by default, and you can extend that to 90 days. Recording can be switched off per number.

When a call becomes a ticket

A ticket opens when the agent cannot resolve something. During the support hours you set, the agent can instead transfer the caller to your team's phone number, briefing your teammate first; if nobody answers within the ring time (10 to 60 seconds), or it is outside support hours, the ticket opens. Built-in rules also stop or escalate on negative sentiment, a do-not-contact request, complex refunds, and legal or medical questions, and the guardrail templates include stop on 'human'.

Test the handoff before launch. In the test console, type your own number and a scenario that needs a person, let the agent call you, and check that the ticket reaches Zendesk with the summary, the order and the recording. Test calls are excluded from analytics.

If your team works in Redo instead, the Redo integration sends escalations to your Redo inbox by email.

    FAQ

    Common questions

Does Loop Voice need a Zendesk phone line?

No. Loop Voice answers on its own number, one you buy through Loop Voice, import from Twilio or connect over a SIP trunk, and uses the Zendesk OAuth client to create tickets.

Which Zendesk plans can connect to Loop Voice?

Zendesk offers OAuth clients on all Suite plans (Team, Growth, Professional, Enterprise and Enterprise Plus) and on Support Team, Professional and Enterprise.

Which client kind should I choose in Zendesk?

Confidential. Zendesk requires a client kind on new OAuth clients, requires public clients to use PKCE, and lets confidential clients use a client secret, which is what Loop Voice asks you for.

Do escalations still appear in Loop Voice once Zendesk is connected?

Yes. Escalated calls always create a support ticket in your Loop Voice dashboard, and Zendesk receives the escalation as an additional channel.
